Tell a new story.
We all have a story about our body, our intelligence, our health, our relationships, and what we’re capable of. But you are not your story - that is, unless you keep telling it! You, being of infinite potential that you are, are the creator of YOU and your world. And you create you through your thoughts, words, and beliefs.
“Since everything is a reflection of our minds. Everything can be changed by our minds.”
If we keep telling the same story, we’ll keep getting the same results.
For example, do you ever catch yourself saying things like:
“I’m too old. I can’t sing. I’m not flexible. I’ve never been good at math. He/she always forgets my birthday. I always get sick when people around me are sick.”
Life listens and responds accordingly. And will more than happily continue to show you exactly how old, forgotten, inept and weak you are! All just so you can say: “see? I told you. It’s true.”
The thing is, if you’re tired of living through the same patterns in your health, relationships and personal life, you have to start telling a new story for yourself! Create a new narrative. Be the author of the story you want to live, rather than what’s been before.
For example, you could start to say things like:
“I’m always in the right place at the right time.”
“I’m getting better at taking time to stretch.”
“I know X loves me and cares about me deeply.”
“I know and trust in my ability to learn new things.”
“Health is natural, I have a really healthy body!”
You are pure potential in physical form. Your thoughts and beliefs about what’s possible for you are what determine what’s possible for you. No matter how often reality has re-affirmed the truthiness of the stories you tell about yourself, if you don’t like it - you can change it!
The reason children learn things so fast is because they don’t have any reason to believe they shouldn’t. It’s hard to change beliefs about ourselves and the world overnight and we can’t erase our past. But we can start to lean in a more open-minded and empowerment-based direction *right now.*

At first it might feel like your lying to yourself to say, “I’m doing really well!” when you’re feeling anything but. A solution to this is to use bridge statements, like: “I believe it’s possible for me to feel better more of the time.”
or make WHAT IF statements like: “What if I woke up feeling really healthy and energized most days?”
By leaning in the direction of the better feeling story, you’ll start to live it more and more!

I’m constantly working and re-working the story I tell about myself. I do my best to catch myself in the middle of a limiting belief statement whether spoken aloud or in my own mind, and shift towards something more empowering.
Recently, I’ve been using it when I rock climb! The more I doubt myself, the shakier I become. But as I continue to say to myself, “I CAN do this, this is easy.” another hand-hold continues to appear. Before I know it I’m at the top, enjoying the view! Feeling strong and proud for reaching out beyond what I thought was impossible for me only moments before.
I’ve noticed the more confidence I have in my ability and the more faith I have in the fact that it’s possible - the more I’m able to embody this reality with strength and grace.

So go ahead, tell a new story! And tell it the way you want it to be. What you think, you become. So choose the happily ever after, and watch your life rise to meet it!
