The Cure for F.O.M.O.
F.O.M.O. - the fear of missing out. We’ve all experienced it from time to time! That feeling that if we don’t go, we’ll miss out on something important or super fun or a great opportunity that could lead to something more. But the truth is, FOMO is a lack mentality, driven by fear instead of love.
It’s so good to say YES to life, to opportunities, and to experiencing life fully. But what’s more important is that you say YES to yourself first. Say yes to your wellbeing, your peace, your evolution, and your purpose. And sometimes that translates to saying no to something else. We’re meant to live life BIG, but we can’t do that on a half-empty battery. And this is why tuning in and filling up is so crucial in order to really be a YES (wo)man in the way we are created to be!
I can’t count how many Friday nights I’ve said no to plans and spent the evening having an epsom salt bath, going for a short hike as the sun sets, reading a good book, doing yoga, a watching movie with my mom. And when I look back, I feel that these are some of my favourite moments EVER. The short sweet simple ones of just living and enjoying life with the ones I love.
I also look back at the trips, nights out dancing, random last minute opportunities to hang out with strangers who became great friends and know that these are ALSO my favourite moments ever. Sometimes the small voice within whispers “go!” “just do it!” and you have to follow this too, even when it goes against logic.
The truth of the matter is, you can’t get it wrong. It's ok to say yes to something when your heart says no and then feel the negative impact of it. Because from these experiences, your resolve to stay true to your heart will just become stronger. And this will make it easier to say no next time!
And if you find yourself saying NO to opportunities because of fear, become aware of this too! Fear is always a contraction and causes resistance within the body, so use that as your meter for whether or not your “no” is fear-motivated or for your highest-good.
The way I see it, the cure to FOMO is JOTI: The Joy of Tuning IN. Tuning in to you, your inner voice and wisdom, and what you truly need and want in any moment. By taking the time to tune in and fill up your tank so-to-speak, you’re making sure that when you do feel inspired to go do something, you’re bringing your best self and you’ll be of great benefit to anyone or place you interact with!
Our Inner self knows the bigger picture and always guides us towards the outcome that will bring the most wellbeing for all.

Each person has a different way of tuning in. For me it usually involves slowing down, taking a few deep breaths, relaxing my mind, placing my hand on my heart and asking myself: What do I want right now? What do I need? What is my highest good here and now? and then trusting the answer and the outcome.
I always trust that by honouring my truth, I am honouring the planet and all the beings on it as well.
Whatever decision you make, what’s most important is that you line up with it energetically. The cross current energies of doubt and regret are incredibly taxing on the body’s system. And so when you make a decision to go or not go, do it or don’t do it - trust that your decision was the right one. And then enjoy and savour the moment you’re in; wherever you are, whatever you’re doing!
Above all, let love + joy be your compass. In that, you can be sure that the choices you make will only lead to more goodness, more love, and more joy in your life!
