5 Things I'm Loving: SUMMER EDITION

Hello, sunshine! ☀️ After a 37 degree Celsius day here in Kelowna, I think we can agree summer is officially in full swing! I've compiled a list of the five things that have been making my summer extra special and sweet (you can watch my other five things I'm loving video here) and so without further ado, let's get into it!

1. My Sun Hat

Since I love being out in the sun but I don’t love wearing sunglasses, a hat is a must! I really love this one in particular because it’s packable/squish-able and it keeps it shape no matter what. It’s been all over the world with me over the past few years and still looks brand new 🌟

2. La Croix Sodas

How am I so late to the game with these!? I am in loveeeee. La Croix sodas are a sweetener-free bubbly fruit drink and so. dang. refreshing. I love using them to create new drinks by mixing with green juices, blended watermelon, mint leaves etc. Whenever I go out to run errands I always bring one along (errands make me strangely thirsty haha) Grapefruit and cran-raspberry are my favourite flavours. So yes, if you haven’t tried these yet add them to your grocery list asap! (note: this is not sponsored, I'm just a huge fan hehe)

3. Berry Picking

It’s berry season here in the Okanagan and they are EVERYWHERE. Saskatoon berries are literally bursting from every roadside bush and blueberry picking season has officially arrived. As someone who tends to finish off a whole carton of blueberries to themselves in one sitting, getting to go out and pick to my heart's delight, filling buckets on buckets, just makes me SO HAPPY! Not only is it more cost-effective, but everything seems to taste better fresh off the plant too. Make sure to google local berry picking spots and make a morning of it with some friends 🍇

4. Reading

This is an all year round love affair but there's just something about sitting in the shade on a warm summers day reading a good book that warms my heart. Seeing as we’re halfway through 2018 I thought I’d share a few of the books I've enjoyed recently! I filmed a Youtube video in March with a whole bunch of my top favs (click here to watch it!) but to keep from repeating myself, I’ll just share some good ones I’ve read since then 🤓

  1. For the human-potential/metaphysical woo lover: “Your Forces and How to Use them” by Christian D. Larson

  2. For the savvy social media user: “Viralnomics” by Jonathan Goodman

  3. For fans of YA fantasy who want to escape into an otherworldly adventure: “City of Brass” by S.A. Chakraborty

5. Mountain Biking

You may have noticed this already, but when I find something I love I just can’t wait to tell everybody just how AMAZING it is and I know I can come off a little preachy. So bear with me haha, but seriously, you guys: Mountain biking is the freakin’ bomb dot com. It has added so much adrenaline, nature time, fun and fitness to my life in the past few months and I just want to be out there every day riding. If you have access to a mountain bike and some trails, please do give it a try. Yes, you will get muddy, sweaty, and scratched up but you will also have the time of your life! I’ve found seeing myself improve and try new trails/features that are a little scary at first has helped to increase my confidence in other areas of life too - win-win! 🤗

And there you have it folks: my current summer faves!

What's one book or a new hobby that you've been loving lately!?
